KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton: Hotel Review

Bangkok has so many hotels that it can honestly feel impossible to choose, but KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton immediately stood out to us because it felt fresh, stylish, and a little different.

KROMO is a newly built hotel in Sukhumvit, one of Bangkok’s best areas for shopping, dining, nightlife, and just generally being close to everything. It’s also the first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Thailand, which already makes it pretty exciting if you love design-led hotels with a stronger sense of personality.

What I liked straight away was that the hotel felt modern and playful, but still really comfortable. There are little design details everywhere, from the warm ruby tones in the rooms to the orange glow around the rooftop pool, and it gives the hotel a fun Bangkok energy without feeling overdone.

Location & Getting There

KROMO Bangkok is located on Sukhumvit Road, close to the Em District, Phrom Phong, Asoke, Terminal 21, and Benchasiri Park.

If you’ve been to Bangkok before, you’ll know how much location matters. Traffic can be chaotic, so staying somewhere with easy access to shopping, food, and public transport makes such a difference.

From the hotel, you’re in a great spot for exploring Sukhumvit. EmSphere, EmQuartier and Emporium are all nearby, so it’s super easy to head out for shopping, restaurants, coffee, or a quick wander around the area. Terminal 21 and Asoke are also close, which makes it a convenient base if you want to move around the city.

We liked that it felt central without being too hectic once you were inside. Bangkok was right outside, but the hotel itself had this calm, polished feel that made it really nice to come back to.

Our Room: King Terrace Room

During our stay, we checked into a King Terrace Room, and this was definitely one of the highlights.

The room felt bright, warm, and nicely designed, with soft neutral tones, curved details, and a terrace that gave it a bit more breathing room than a standard city hotel room.

I’m always a fan of having outdoor space in Bangkok. Even if you’re not out there all day, it’s nice being able to step outside for a bit of fresh air, especially in the morning or late afternoon when the light softens.

The room itself felt modern without being cold. The bed was super comfortable, the layout made sense, and the design had just enough personality to feel memorable. I especially liked the warmer tones and subtle Thai-inspired details, which helped the room feel connected to Bangkok rather than just another generic city hotel.

It was also a great room for slow mornings. Having daily brunch included meant we didn’t have to rush down first thing, which honestly suited us perfectly.

Facilities

One of the best parts of KROMO Bangkok is the rooftop pool.

Set up on the 28th floor, the pool looks out across the Bangkok skyline and has such a good city-hotel feel. The orange-red ceiling gives the whole space a really distinctive look, especially when the light starts changing in the late afternoon.

We came up around sunset and it was easily one of our favourite moments of the stay. You get the city views, the soft golden light, the water, and that feeling of being right in Bangkok but somehow above all the noise.

There’s also a Rooftop Pool Bar with bites and drinks, so you can spend a bit more time up there rather than just doing a quick swim and leaving. It’s a really photogenic space too, especially with the striped towels and the open skyline views.

The hotel also has a 24-hour fitness centre, which was genuinely good. The gym has city views, proper equipment, and enough space for a real workout.

I also really liked the lobby and shared spaces. KROMO has this design story inspired by Bangkok’s “City of Nine Gems”, and you can see that through the colours, textures, artwork, and little playful details throughout the hotel. It gives the property a stronger identity, which is exactly what you want from a Curio Collection hotel.

Dining

Dining at KROMO Bangkok centres around Colette, the hotel’s French-inspired bistro and bar on the ground floor.

Colette has that lovely mix of polished and relaxed. It feels stylish enough for a proper dinner, but not so formal that you feel like you need to whisper through the whole meal.

The restaurant brings together French technique with global inspiration and Thai seasonal produce, so the menu feels familiar but still has a Bangkok twist. The space itself is also beautiful, with warm tones, moody lighting, and a bit of playful glamour.

We had dinner at Colette and really enjoyed it. The food was comforting but still refined, which is honestly my favourite kind of hotel dining. You want something that feels special, but you also want to leave full and happy.

The drinks were also a highlight. Colette Bar serves curated cocktails, orange wine, natural wine, and bar snacks, so it works well whether you’re having a full dinner or just stopping by for a drink.

Breakfast was done as daily brunch, which I loved. Instead of the usual rushed buffet feeling, it felt more relaxed and made-to-order. We had dishes like congee, fried rice with egg, and sweeter options, and it was such a nice way to start the day slowly.

KROMO also has Vilah, a creative social space that works as more of a casual daytime spot with pastries, grab-and-go items, and energising drinks, then shifts into sharing plates, cocktails and wine later in the day. There’s also the Rooftop Pool Bar if you want something lighter with skyline views.

Staff & Service

The service at KROMO Bangkok was friendly, easy, and polished without feeling too formal.

Everyone we spoke to was warm and helpful, and the stay felt smooth from start to finish. Because the hotel is new, there’s also that nice fresh energy where everything feels clean, well-kept, and considered.

I also appreciated that the hotel didn’t feel intimidating. Some design hotels can sometimes feel a bit too cool for their own good, but KROMO still felt welcoming and comfortable.

Final Verdict

KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton is such a great option if you want a stylish, design-focused stay in Sukhumvit.

The location is super convenient, the King Terrace Room felt fresh and comfortable, the rooftop pool was gorgeous at sunset, and dinner at Colette gave the stay a more polished dining moment.

What stood out most was the personality of the hotel. It feels new, colourful, and creative, but still practical for a Bangkok trip. You’re close to shopping, food, transport, and the city’s energy, but you still have a calm room, a rooftop pool, and a really nice restaurant to come back to.
