Hotel Review: Symphony Suites Santorini

When it comes to choosing where to stay in Santorini, the options can feel endless - but every so often, you find a gem that not only lives up to expectations but exceeds them. That was my experience at Symphony Suites Santorini, a serene boutique hotel perched just outside the bustle of Fira.

With breathtaking caldera views, luxurious amenities, and thoughtful service, it was the perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and effortless access to the island’s best spots. I stayed in the Venus Suite, and let’s just say… waking up there every morning was something I’ll never forget.

Getting to Symphony Suites Santorini

Symphony Suites is about a 10-minute drive from the Santorini airport, and it’s easily accessible if you’re arriving by ferry - the Santorini Port is also nearby, also around a 10-minute drive. One of the best things about staying here was the free on-site parking, which made things super convenient as we explored the island by rental car. Despite being tucked away in a quiet pocket, it’s only a few minutes from the lively capital Fira, making it the ideal base for seeing all sides of the island.

If you’re not driving, you can catch a taxi from the airport or ferry port. We would highly recommend hiring a car for flexibility and ease, though.

Our Room at Symphony Suites Santorini

We stayed in the Venus Suite, and honestly, it felt like a dream carved into the cliffs. The suite had a spacious layout with minimal, elegant design - think crisp whites, natural textures, and lots of sunlight. But the star of the show? That view. The private terrace looked straight out onto the caldera, with uninterrupted ocean and volcano views that changed with the light throughout the day.

And yes - there was a hot tub, tucked into our terrace and perfectly positioned to catch the golden hues of sunset. We spent hours just soaking it in, watching the sky shift from pink to deep blue. On one of the days, we spent the whole day time at our suite just relaxing and watching the enchanting sunset over a bottle of champagne.

The suite was fitted with everything you’d expect from a luxury boutique stay: plush bedding, a walk-in shower, great air-conditioning, and high-end touches that felt personal without being over the top.

Staff & Service at Symphony Suites Santorini

The team at Symphony Suites made us feel welcome from the very beginning. A special shoutout goes to Georgia at reception, who was genuinely warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful with any questions we had throughout the stay - from recommendations to logistics, she made everything easy. While the hotel operates with a boutique-style team, the service felt personal and attentive.

Breakfast was served in-room each morning — a delicious mix of Greek and continental options, all made to order and delivered right to our terrace. There’s something incredibly luxurious about sipping fresh juice and coffee in your robe while gazing out over the caldera.

What is there to do around the area?

The area around Symphony Suites may be quieter than Santorini’s more touristy towns, but that’s part of the charm - and the location is actually one of the property’s biggest strengths. It’s incredibly well-positioned for visiting nearby underrated gems like Pyrgos, a hilltop village with incredible sunset views, and Megalochori, a traditional village known for its stone houses, narrow alleyways, and local wineries. These were some of our highlights during our 3-day Santorini trip.

Exploring the charming hidden gem of Pyrgos

You're also just a short drive from Imerovigli, perfect for that iconic caldera cliff walk (from Fira to Oia), and Akrotiri, home to the ancient ruins and the striking Red Beach. The Santorini Port is also within close reach, making check-in or onward travel a breeze. Whether you're exploring postcard towns or hidden corners of the island, everything is within easy reach.

Watching the sunset from Fira

Almost everyone makes their way to Oia for the sunset. While we would definitely recommend visiting Oia at some point of your trip, it gets incredibly crowded during this time and we would actually suggest visiting during the day time (early morning is ideal) when it’s a lot quieter.

For our first night, we watched the sunset from our suite at the property, and that was magical. For the second night, we watched it from the Three Bells of Fira – which was also memorable. Oia is about a 30-minute drive from Symphony Suites, which is not bad at all considering they are almost on opposite ends of the Santorini.

Final Verdict on Symphony Suites Santorini

If you're after a peaceful stay in Santorini with caldera views, a sense of privacy, and a hint of understated luxury, Symphony Suites is it. The Venus Suite was the perfect romantic hideaway - from the hot tub to the view to the quiet elegance of the space.

Add to that free parking, a central-yet-secluded location, and Georgia’s outstanding hospitality, and you’ve got the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

If I ever return to Santorini (and let’s be real, how could I not?), I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
